We Don’t Know For Whom The Bell Tolls

2 Days or so before my Sister passed on. She called me back after we had just hung up after a previous conversation. She asked, “Are you okay? We are not fighting, are we?” I said, “No we are not fighting. I do not agree with your perspective on this point, but we are not fighting. You are my Sister. I love you a lot. But You have your Life journey & I have mine. If this is what fits with yours, then I cannot force you towards my Way of Thinking.” She said, “Great. I just wanted to make sure because when I am gone, I don’t want you to play back this conversation over and over in your head.”

At that moment, there was no reason for me to even phantom that she would be gone before the week was up. But a valuable lesson which we Lived as a Family since I was a child was a play. So that conversation was totally normal to Me. Our Parents taught us as little children that Death is inevitable. It was not a concept to be Feared. What was important in life is How You Live: the decisions and things You do every second of your Life. I was Taught to Live Consciously at home, not by motivational speakers. We were not allowed to leave a situation in a way that you would live in Regret should something happen the next second to prevent you from making it okay again. My mum would literally hide my car keys as a student if I was going to leave and the air was not clear. It used to drive me nuts. But we Lived it.

We never know When or How the Day will come. Make it part of your Breathing. When you are thinking of calling someone, do it. Or just send a little text, “Thinking of You”. If someone hurts you, tell them, in writing if you do not trust your discipline in talking to them. Don’t be horrible to people. Period. Treat everyone, even a hobo in the street with Kindness. Desist from reacting in Anger. If someone even your family member does something that makes you angry, either say your Piece in way you will not regret or keep your distance from their Negativity. Ensure that when you have exchanged words with anyone, that you leave things resolved even if to say, “I need Time Out. I love you even if I don’t love your behaviour this minute.” Every time just think if I never see or hear this person again, am I happy that this is our last interaction? Hell is in our minds. You are tortured by regrets and only “If…”. That is not a LIFE to live. Live every day as though it were your last with no Fear and no Regrets.
