I am very saddened with humankind not demanding more of itself? Many of us like to say, “I want to leave the world better than I found it.” How do you do that tip toeing and not disrupting the status quo? Keeping to the tried and tested route will never make the world better? Have you seen the news lately?
Is it the failing of the business schools in this country or is it because they are also part of the problem that 24 years on we have leaders that go through their doors who have not been courageous, creative, innovative and ambitious enough, in large numbers, to transform our workplaces and society from Apartheid racialised institutions to places rooted in the democratic principles of non-racialism, non-sexism, equity and equality? How do we explain this?
Leadership of the future (of now) is less about the theory of an idealised leadership model and more about the practical ability to navigate a journey of authenticity and inspiration; energising and equipping oneself and others to make the right choices for the situation at hand. – Hutchins
Our Current Education Systems from cradle to the grave are Failing the world. We have leaders in positions and authority who avoid difficult conversations, taking the right decisions that result in true sustainable conditions rather than paying lip service and lacking strategic thinking to appreciate how their fear and myopic views limit the progress of humankind! We may think with the technological advances and innovations we have progressed. But how further or better would our world be if energies were on harnessing every individual’s unique talents and gifts instead of holding each other back, consciously or unconsciously, because of our differences – race, gender, sex, religion etc.?
